Budget Travel and Roman

When I got home this evening, I was ecstatic to find the latest copy of Budget Travel in the mailbox.  I immediately sat down, tossed it open and began reading while visions of sugarplums beaches, castles and spas danced in my head.

I came across the Essentials section highlighting Europe’s best values and Italy happened to fall into the  “Less of a Bargain” category.  It stated…

A nice Roman lunch for two now costs $150

What?! Lunch at $75 per person?!  I immediately read it aloud to hubby who was sitting across from me at the table knowing that he would be equally flabbergasted.

Nate suddenly runs into the kitchen…

  • Nate: What did you say?
  • Me: I was talking to daddy about travel in Italy.  I didn’t say anything to you.
  • Nate: But what did you say?
  • Me: Nothing you need to be concerned about.
  • Nate: But I heard you say Roman – don’t talk about Roman!

Laughter ensues

A little background (to help you see the humor in this post)… You see, “Roman” is Nate’s best friend.

I guess being protective of your friends isn’t a bad thing! It’s just funny that he was blaring Star Wars in the other room, yet was still in tune with our conversation.  Another case and point that kids hear everything!
