I stumbled across the photo below of a reading nook / canopy tent and instantly fell in love. My daughter, Riley, loves reading books all the time and also loves hiding in our curtains. Why not combine the two and create her own little piece of paradise?

Let me denote that I am not crafty, by any means. My philosophy is typically to buy something already made for twice the price because by the time I fail miserably trying to create it myself, I’ve already spent four times as much as I should’ve!
So, here goes nothing…I’ve purchased a hula hoop, curtains, fishing wire, fabric and a bean-bag chair to try and re-create this picture (with slightly different colors). I’ll post photos once I’m done (as long as no laughing is involved in the outcome).
I recently made a promise to myself to actually finish decorating the house one room at a time. I guess that means we’re starting with Riley’s room!
Enter craftiness take two…
I purchased a chandelier for her room over a year ago and it’s been in my closet ever since. I asked hubby to hang it today, so we’re well on our way to making her room complete!
